7th July 2020
Dear Friends,
As you know we trialled two face to face services this Sunday and still had our online All Age service that has become part of our pattern during lockdown. Those that came enjoyed the variety and the opportunity to be physically part of the ‘one body’ that is Stoke Poges church.  Numbers were not high, but that was to be expected as many are unable to venture forth just yet. It has been really helpful to hear from individuals about your situations, this has enabled us to prayerfully consider how we progress things in the weeks to come.

May I say, at this point, a very big thank you to Simon & Tina Edwards and the All age team who gifted us such a wonderful act of worship on the 5th July which we all got to join in with through all three services this week.

Opening up the buildings for worship has been a tremendous achievement, which has been a few weeks in the making, so thank you to the PCC and the many volunteers who have supported this and made it happen. With the trial Sunday complete we are better placed to continue. Sadly, our expectation of moving swiftly forward to two morning services in our buildings cannot be. Natasha’s movement between the churches needs to be taken into consideration, as the guidelines advise this could be a potential risk and stop her from being Covid-19 compliant.  To prevent this from being an issue a gap needs to be factored into our worship pattern.

Therefore Sunday 12th July 2020 will see us having:

9am Morning Prayer at St Giles’

10.30am Family Service Podcast Online

4pm Family Service at St Andrew’s

Mid week Communion will continue online for the time being ... returning to the Chapel asap. Hopefully this pattern of worship will be sustainable and therefore continue in the weeks to come.

To ensure we are all kept safe the following guidelines still need to be followed:

  • Hand sanitisers must be used as you enter.

  • No singing, chanting or shouting

  • Remain seated to reduce accidental contact

  • Service sheets to be taken home by worshippers

  • A one - way system to come in and out of the buildings has to be used

  • Please follow the signs already in situ and take note of the Covid-19 guidance posters dotted around.

  • At St Giles’ the main front door is your only point of access. Arrangements have been made with the Memorial gardens for those who drive to park on the path and come through the pedestrian gate during July and August.

  • At St Andrew’s the Main Door to the side of the hall is the only point of entry.

  • Gifts and Offerings are to be placed on the giving plate, which will be on the Font at St Giles, and the entrance table at St Andrew’s.

  • Masks are optional as we will be 2m’s apart.

As stated before we will keep this under constant review so please keep an eye on our website and the Friday News.  If you need to have a paper version delivered, so you are kept in the loop, then please contact Debbie in the office who will arrange this.

Please continue to pray for our PCC and all those in leadership.  We are planning and seeking God’s grace and guidance for our future as we continue in our mission to Love God & Love people.

Remain safe, and know that you are in our prayers …
